Hall of Fame Spotlight: Kellie Schmitt – HerdZone.com

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – The Marshall University Athletics Hall of Fame Committee announced the 2020 induction class in March, but this weekend’s Hall of Fame Weekend festivities were postponed because of the coronavirus pandemic and changes to the Marshall football schedule. The Thundering Herd was originally scheduled to host the University of Pittsburgh at Joan C. Edwards Stadium this weekend, but that game was canceled. The Marshall football program is off this weekend.

Marshall Athletics and the Hall of Fame Committee look forward to honoring this induction class at a date to be determined.

This weekend, all nine members of the 2020 class will be spotlighted on HerdZone.com, Marshall’s official athletics website.

Next up: Kellie Schmitt, who was a star tennis player at Marshall from 2005 to 2009.

Schmitt, who also served as an assistant coach for the Thundering Herd, is Marshall’s all-time leader in career
