UCLA’s Jen Brady Strikes A Blow For College Tennis By Reaching First Major Quarterfinal – Forbes


At a time when college tennis programs across the nation are being cut due to the pandemic and growing financial concerns, Jen Brady is making a major statement on behalf of college tennis.

The former UCLA star reached her first major quarterfinal when she dominated three-time Grand Slam champion Angelique Kerber, 6-1, 6-4, in the fourth round on Sunday. Brady, one of four American women in the fourth round, improved to 9-1 since the restart, including winning her first WTA title last month in Lexington, Ky. She also picked up $425,000 for reaching the quarterfinals, more than her year-to-date winnings.
