‘Starfield’ Release Date: It’ll Be A While, Says Bethesda SVP – Forbes

Starfield
Starfield still feels light-years away. Bethesda Game Studios’ first original IP since 1994’s Elder Scrolls: Arena, Starfield was first announced by studio head Todd Howard at E3 2018. Official copy describes it, simply, as “the new space epic currently in development by [BGS].”
Its unveiling, as such, was accompanied by a lot of fanfare for Fallout 76 and a vague teaser trailer for another game: The Elder Scrolls VI.
In the more than two years since that E3 announcement, Bethesda’s been careful about offering up specifics, and we’ve heard very little about either Starfield or the next mainline Elder Scrolls title. What we do know is that Starfield will be the studio’s next single-player RPG; Elder Scrolls VI is well beyond the horizon.
As reported by Twinfinite, Bethesda senior VP Pete Hines commented on Starfield during a recent broadcast for Gamescom 2020, Germany’s virtual games-industry trade show.
