Early voting dates, times and locations – Shelby Star
Cleveland County voters will have four places to cast their ballots during the early voting process for the 2020 election. The locations and times for early voting were established last week during a scheduled meeting of the Cleveland County Board of Elections.
The four sites will be The LeGrand Center in Shelby, Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Kings Mountain, Boiling Springs Town Hall in Boiling Springs and Palm Tree United Methodist Church in Lawndale.
“The health and safety of everyone is top priority this year,” said Board of Elections chair Douglas Sharp in a press release. “Opening four large sites with early morning, late evening, Saturday and Sunday hours will give voters every opportunity to safely cast a ballot.”
Early voting will start Thursday, Oct. 15 at all sites and will run through Saturday Oct. 31. Polls will be open 8 a.m. – 7:30 p.m. Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 3 p.m. on Saturdays and 1 – 5 p.m. on Sundays.
All polling sites will include PPE for poll workers and voters who do not have their own, single-use pens, sanitization stations and protective barriers around voting booths. Sites will also be professionally cleaned throughout the entire early voting period, and election workers will be required to regularly sanitize all surfaces.
No photo ID will be required to vote early. Unregistered voters wanting to vote early can register to vote at any early voting site and vote on the same day.
