Dating site OKCupid adds Black Lives Matter questions to measure compatibility – The Union Leader

Singles looking for love on OKCupid can now spare themselves a first date with someone with whom they are not politically compatible.

On Thursday, the popular dating site added a “Black Lives Matter” icon that its users can add to their personal profiles. OKCupid also added several questions that aim to match up people who have similar sensibilities in terms of activism.

Those questions ask users if they protest to fight inequality and if it’s imperative that people they date are also active in fighting for racial justice.

According to OKCupid’s website, 70% of respondents in the U.S. claim they take part in demonstrations and 9% of the dating service’s users are donating time or money to support causes linked to civil rights.
